Application Engineer "Country-Specific Adaptations" (m/w/d)
The Application engineer country-specific Adaptions is responsible for handling product customization based on country-specific standards, manufacturing techniques, and available materials. These are developed independently with the responsible engineers at the sites and finally submitted to the central development team at the Darmstadt site.

Key responsibilities

  • Technically managing series projects (mechanical scope) in close cooperation with all external/internal parties
  • Interface between production plant, Global R&D and external parties (customers, suppliers)
  • Change request and drawing examination/approval preparation
  • Implementation of changes and cost-optimization projects
  • Compilation and evaluation of test results and presentation to customer
  • Coordination, completion, initiation, and subsequent management of tasks generated in design, prototyping, testing and other internal departments in collaboration with production
  • Exchanging information with the relevant departments to optimize the product and the production process - DfA; DfM; DtC
  • Obtaining technical approvals for new applications
  • Supporting creation of engineering specifications
  • Supporting production of near-series prototypes

What we’re looking for

  • Graduate engineer, focus on engineering or design or industrial engineer with a technical focus (bachelor/master)
  • User knowledge of ECAD software (preferably Altium Designer)
  • User knowledge of TeamCenter, Polarion, Jira and/or other related software
  • Basic knowledge of data analysis and FMEA
  • Knowledge of standard operating procedures, process instructions and ISO TS 16949, ISO 14001:2005 - Quality assurance systems (automotive)
  • Professional experience
  • Fluency in English and German is required
  • Excellent organizational and time management and interpersonal skills are required
  • Works under limited supervision
  • Ability to solve problems efficiently and effectively
