IT Cloud Security Engineer (m/f/d) at GEA Group

Your responsibilities and tasks:

As a cloud security engineer you are part of a larger team dedicated to build a secure and robust enterprise-grade cloud platform. You play an integral role in protecting GEA’s data assets working on the challenge to balance between security & efficiency and apply security best practices in GEA’s IT infrastructure.
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Build, maintain, upgrade, and continuously improve the security in cloud-based systems based on given policies to ensure that apps, containers, infrastructure, and networks are protected
  • Automate security controls, data, and processes that enforce rules and policies to provide better metrics and operational support using security-as-code
  • Implement security best-practices that enable secure development of new solutions and release processes built into the system at every layer
  • Working with software developers and engineers to ensure that development follows established processes in which the security by design approach is fully adopted
  • Provides security recommendations to the business development teams and identifies security gaps on the platform
  • Examining and testing by performing thread simulations on the infrastructure and code developed by platform- and workload DevOps teams to ensure high levels of security and low levels of risk
  • Actively seek to sharpen and share your vision on the newest tools, techniques and methods in cloud security

Your profile and qualifications:

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in information systems, programming, cybersecurity, or similar field or equivalent experience
  • Standard security certifications such as CCSK, CCSP, GCSA, CISSP,CSSP, OSCP, CompTIA Security+ etc.
  • Azure Security Engineer Associate / AZ-500 certification strongly preferred
  • Trained on Agile and DevOps concepts
  • At least 3-5 years’ experience building and maintaining secure cloud solutions
  • Strong skills in scripting and automation, Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform), using CI/CD concepts and containerization, monitoring and logging
  • Knowledge of multi-tier applications, web platforms , IIoT, AI/ML, Data Lake
  • Understand Business Continuity principles
  • Fluent English skills required, German language skills are of advantage
  • This role can be based in Germany or The Netherlands
