Business Development - Digital Services at Telenor Norge

Looking for someone who has a blend of a business development, project and product management experience. The role has a mission is to build and manage a portfolio of services end to end within the digital services focus areas.

You are (personality/ competencies)

  • Marketing savvy, able to execute GTM strategy. Committed to be involved in GTM activities to gain first-hand experience on product take-up, customer feedand on-ground activation challenges

  • Customer obsessed, with a clear thinking of tomorrow’s needs. Deliver customer value and taking ownership of product or service offering by leading end-to-end planning and monitoring of delivery and post-delivery performance.

  • Someone that looks out for latest technology and trends, familiar with Digital Services and OTT business models. Able to size up the market potential / business size and justify entering / starting a specific business / product, able to quickly grasp and structure a commercial/operational model, be it as Digi’s own product/service offering or through partnerships

Responsibilities (What is this role all about)

  • Developing business concepts and opportunities from scratch based on industry trends and market demands. Analytical, with the ability to identify, plan, experiment and prototype strategic digital innovation initiatives

  • Build high-level business cases to justify investments in selected projects / opportunities. Unlike traditional telco products, this role requires the ability to assess the market potential / size, and make strong hypothesis on how it will benefit Digi. Presenting and selling new business concepts / ideas to internal stakeholders and senior management and able to work closely with business line leaders to implement and grow initiatives based on Digi’s strategic roadmap.

  • Conduct discussions and negotiations with local and / or global partners to create business opportunities / concepts. This would also include working with existing partners to grow the collaboration, and jointly work together to identify and capitalize on future opportunities. These opportunities should provide significant business value to Digi in the form of direct / indirect revenues and / or customer retention benefits.

  • Drive and manage legal requirements for selected partnership agreements. This requires some experience in managing complex agreements, and a strong understanding of the commercial impact.

  • Building and maintaining a funnel of ideas and partners to be explored over a period of time. Focus areas include (but not limited to): entertainment, learning, productivity, business solutions, payments / e-payments, lifestyle services.

  • High collaboration efforts required to ensure products / services are sold and supported across all Digi owned channels. Highly resourceful and able to look out for opportunities to push products out into external channels. For example, bringing products to showcase in regional activities and partner’s events.

  • Takes full accountability on business performance, able to forecast and set clear targets with proven track record in driving business revenues, users, active usage, and retention.

Your Merits: (what is required for the role)

  • At least 6-10 years of working experience in business development / product development for Internet-related / digital services.

  • Have exposure in working with different types of partners, vendors and have strong partnership experience

  • Discipline with time management and can work well under pressure and tight deadline

  • Well organized & multitasking is a must

  • Demonstrated leadership and impact in terms of bringing new products/services to market

  • Exposure to business strategy in a high growth
